Art Noir - Jan 2024
Picture this. A lively gathering of artists and professionals, wine flowing amidst an enchanting atmosphere crafted with melodic rhythms of RnB and Neo Soul tunes. Passionate conversations echo throughout the room and creativity shines. In the room, a vibrant silent auction beckons, showcasing the diverse creations of local artists. Here, bidding wars unfold in hushed anticipation, each piece a testament to creativity and craftsmanship, eagerly sought after by enthusiastic patrons. That was Art Noir, held on January 18, 2024, at the captivating Corliss-Carrington House nestled on the East Side of Providence, Rhode Island.
For months, co-founder Allison Macdonald and I have worked to bring Providence, Rhode Island, and the greater New England area an event that is for artists, by artists. An event that brings excitement and opportunities for growth.
As emerging artists, it can be hard to catch your big break. It can also feel daunting to connect with those in the professional art world. Art Noir is looking to change that. We understand how it feels to be an emerging artist. Because we are there right now with you. We also see the lack of events and programs for the emerging art scene that connect us with the demographics that can purchase or showcase our art. Our goal is to create a premier art event that connects emerging artists with art professionals and businesses. A place to nurture relationships and create pathways for growing in your artistic field while enjoying a fun, stylish night out.
At our Jan 18 launch event, we had 70+ people in attendance (which includes artists, art professionals, and those who value art), sold 5 out of the 7 auction pieces, and fostered new connections within the New England art scene. It was merely the tip of the iceberg. And we will be coming back for round two even better.
